Help in the Community / Community Access
Community access
Getting out, staying
connected.
Community access support is the practical, hands-on help that gets people out of the
house and into the community — for the activities, appointments, friendships and
routines that make a life feel like a life.
What Community Access Looks Like
It depends on what matters to you.
Some people want help getting to the shops, the library or a medical appointment. Others want a support professional alongside them at a gym class, a community group or a coffee with friends. Some need transport assistance; some need someone to sit alongside them in a new environment until it feels safe.
Whatever it looks like for you, the goal is the same: connection, participation and a fuller life.
What We Help With
Examples of community access.
Shopping & errands
Help to get to the shops, navigate aisles, make decisions, manage money and carry goods home.
Medical appointments
Transport and support to attend appointments, understand information and follow up.
Social activities
Community groups, hobby classes, sport, fitness, faith communities, friend visits.
Education & training
Support to attend TAFE, adult education courses or skill-building programs.
Volunteering
Help to find, settle into and continue meaningful volunteer roles.
Family & outings
Help to visit family, attend events, go on outings and stay part of the people who matter.
Who Delivers It
Our support professionals.
Community access is provided by Neta Care support professionals — not contractors, not gig workers. They know your routine, your preferences and what makes a good day a good day. The same support professional comes back most of the time, with planned back-up for leave or illness.
Funding
How community access is funded.
NDIS. Under Core Supports — Assistance with Social and Community Participation, and Core Supports — Transport.
